It's Official - The Klamath Dams are Coming Down
After two decades of campaigning, Klamath River Tribes and their allies won a historic victory today when federal regulators approved the removal of the lower four Klamath River dams. The decision comes almost exactly 20 years after the horrific 2002 Fish Kill that left tens of thousands of adult salmon carcasses lining the river banks and was the catalyst for the movement to remove the dams.
Removing the Klamath Dams is a key restoration step for well being of salmon and the communities that depend on them.
Congratulations to everyone that worked so hard to make Klamath Dam Removal a reality!
